Howl Pendragon is a loud, selfish, conceited, and self-centred wizard. But behind all
his flaws lies a beautiful person (on the inside not just on the outside) One of my
favourite things about this character is that all the people in town believe he eats
pretty young girls hearts ^^ Howl is from... wait for it... Howl's Moving Castle! This
costume is from the Studio Ghibli film written and Directed by Hayao Miyazaki based
off of the Diana Wynne Jones' novel.

This costume was actually surprisingly easy. I hit a couple Bumps here and there
(like noticing that after I sewed all the pieces of the sleeves together they didn't all
really fit together properly, making the pants out of a fabric that had absolutely no
stretch (which for pants that tight just doesn't work) and last but not least
forgetting the wig needed to be cut and doing it in the hotel room the day I was
planning on wearing it! But other than those things the costume was actually quite
simple. And actually all of those were things I did to myself! The jacket is made of
heavy weight Satin, used dull side out (always dull side out) I actually had to order
all the colours into the store together (and a whole bunch of colours I didn't need
just so the store had a bunch to sell) because there was NOTHING we had that
I could find in all the right colours that worked. In the end though I LOVE what I got! The shirt is a really light
polyester linen look fabric, it had a really interesting texture that looked a lot like a coarse woven linen, but without all
the wrinkles! The pants are twill.. not stretch twill.. just twill.. As for the jewellery, the earrings are antique Japanese
jade beads I picked up online (I actually need a better wig so you can see the earrings at times) the blue bead on the
Necklace is a glass cat's eye bead, while all the gold ones are glass, the red beads on both the earrings and the
necklace are Swarovski crystals so they sparkle really nice when the light hits them right, and last but certainly not
least my rings! The lovely Green Tea Killing found me those rings ^,~

So I did some massive fix ups to the jacket for the Toronto Cosplay Picnic. I remade all of the bias tape and put it on
properly, I redid the hem and the collar and altered and shortened the sleeves. I also fixed up a bunch of parts on the
shirt, though I think I may remake the shirt and I soon need to remake the pants. I am so very very happy with The
jacket now though!!

The Sophie Hatter is the lovely
