First and foremost there is a new costume that has been added! I am still waiting on most of the pictures from
the photos shoot I did with Ackson Lee this weekend, however after he sent me the first four I figured I at
least had enough to get the costume posted! That costume would be Black Widow Natalia! I really really love
that costume, however that particular version will now be retired. There were some issues with the fabric when
it gets photographed with a flash, so I will be ripping apart the body suit and making it again out of something
different. I was not planning on wearing it again after I first learned about this problem, however when Ackson
asked if I would like to do photos at Wizard World I figured that was a great costume to bring since the
lighting at the Direct Energy Centre lends itself well to using non flash photography. Ackson did an amazing
job getting pictures of the costume! I can't express how happy I am that I was able to get at least some
photos of that costume before I had to remake it!
Other than doing photos on Friday Wizard World was an insanely huge bust for me. I bought my weekend
pass on Friday, but never really got into the convention on Friday. I was busy doing photos and only ran into
the convention for about fifteen minutes to say hello to someone. On Saturday my friends and I got up and
started getting dressed as Black Lanterns. After about four hours of makeup we were heading out to my car
to head to the convention only to find out my back window had been smashed, and my car had been broken
into. I had to go and shower so I could talk with the police about the break in. I didn't want to be dressed like
dead Wonder Woman while talking to them. So I called the police and then had to sit and wait for them to get
back to me. My group headed to con while I was waiting since we had no clue how long it was going to take. At
that point I was originally just going to head home after dealing with the police and hopefully get my window
dealt with. After getting to file my police report I ultimately decided I would at the very least head to the
convention to get some shopping done. I had wanted to buy a few things that weekend so I figured I would
go try and hunt them down, even if there was only an hour or so left in the dealers room open hours. I did
find quite a few things I wanted, however it was incredibly weird being at a convention not in costume. I ended
up heading home after dinner with a friend that night. I didn't want to leave my car overnight in Toronto with a
window missing. It was do disheartening to have spent so much money on my weekend pass, only to not be
able to use it, as well as all the work I did on costumes. I likely won't be wearing Black Lantern wonder Woman
again for quite a while, so sadly that costume will not be added to the site at any point in the near future.
I also made a Mera costume that I never got to wear to Wizard World. It was supposed to be my Sunday
costume, but since I wasn't there on Sunday it never happened. I am however planning on doing a shoot in it
this week! I am really excited about the snow we got today, I am hoping it stays until Friday so I can do a
shoot in it. I have been pondering a few really cool locations. I would love to do a shot near the water and in
this region there are so many good places for that! There is also an above water shipwreck not horribly far
from me so I am definitely planning on doing photos there at some point (in not Friday a little later in the
spring when I have my Aquaman to shoot with) I am very very excited about getting photos of this costume,
and they will also likely be taken with my new camera so I should be able to get pictures up relatively quickly!
In other actual website updates I have also added new photos to my Howl Gallery! I did a little mini shoot a
while back with Feeprinzessin. Those are now all posted, so feel free to check those out! Also she is making
me a new website layout! Which I am super super excited about, so look forwards to that coming along soon!
Now it's time for me to get back to work on my costumes for Ad Astra at the beginning of April! There will
hopefully be three new costumes for that, so look forward to those coming soon! You can also always check
out what I am planning on doing and what conventions I am planning on going to by heading on over to the
Upcoming Events page!
That's really all I have to update on today!
Cheers,
~Lee
